ClearCal - Privacy Policy

Effective date: December 6, 2025

This Privacy Policy explains how Nomi LLC ("ClearCal," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the ClearCal — AI Calorie Tracker mobile application (the "App").

1) What this policy covers

This policy applies to:

  • The ClearCal mobile app for iOS (including AI meal analysis, nutrition tracking, settings, and progress-tracking features).
  • In-app purchases, free plan features, and rewarded ads.
  • Customer support interactions.

This policy does not cover third-party websites, links, or services outside the App.

2) Summary (at a glance)

  • No account required. You can use ClearCal without signing up.
  • Most data stays on your device.
  • Optional iCloud Sync may store your nutrition data in your iCloud account.
  • We do not sell personal data.
  • Ads: The free plan uses rewarded ads powered by Google AdMob. Ads are non-personalized unless you choose otherwise through Apple or Google settings.
  • AI image processing: Meal photos you submit are sent securely to our AI provider (OpenAI) only to analyze the meal you photographed.

3) Information we collect

We designed ClearCal with privacy in mind. We collect only what is necessary to provide the App's features.

a) Information you generate in the App

Examples include:

  • Meal photos you choose to upload for AI calorie analysis
  • → Processed only to analyze the meal; not used to identify you.
  • Nutrition logs (meals, calories, macros, notes)
  • Daily calorie/macronutrient goals
  • User settings (units, preferences, display options)
  • Subscription status (stored locally and securely verified through Apple)

Storage:

By default, this information remains on your device.

If you enable iCloud Sync, Apple stores a copy in your iCloud account.

We do NOT access or store your photos, except temporarily during AI analysis.

b) For rewarded ads (free plan)

ClearCal uses Google AdMob to display rewarded ads.

To protect your privacy:

  • We request non-personalized ads by default.
  • AdMob may receive limited device information needed to serve and measure ads.
  • You can change ad personalization in Apple Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking or Google’s ad privacy settings.

We do not use your nutrition data, photos, or logs for advertising.

c) AI meal analysis

When you scan a meal:

  • The photo is sent securely to OpenAI's Vision API.
  • The image is used only to identify foods, estimate portions, and calculate nutrition.
  • We do not use your images to train AI models.
  • We do not link meal photos to your identity.

Photos are not stored by ClearCal after analysis.
